Towards life, we tread.
I, Dakshayani Bhat A, a bonafide graduate from the esteemed institution "Ninasam", considering Bengaluru as the centre of my theatre experimentation, have been directing plays in different schools, colleges and other troupes of Karnataka. Having qualified as a theatre director skilled with set designing, costume designing, make up and property design, and triggered by the evolving levels of societal problems rooted in the core of human functionality was driven towards answering this question by means of theatre. At the same time the plea of students from different colleges with a yearning for theatre worked towards creating the troupe “Dhrushya(R)".

A FAIRY TALE RIDE TOWARDS DESTINY
What started as a theatre troupe with a few theatre enthusiasts, over these 14 years have grown into a matured theatre group, performing hundreds of shows around the country, to much acclaim.
In this memorable journey of 14 years, we have established ourselves as one of the most prominent theatre teams of Karnataka, by continuously experimenting with various aspects of theatre and blending local folk culture into contemporary theatre experiments is one of the hallmarks of Dhrushya(R).

We are known for not being accustomed to one style of theatre rather to different styles like
Realistic, Stylized, Semi Stylized, Symbolic and Observed. Plays like Samanathe, Paying Guest, Poli Kitti, Marugadalu, Agnivarna, Kempu Kanagile, Abhiyana, Swapnavasavadatta, Twelfth Night, Varshageethe, Chalesha, Basti and many more are testament to the brand that we have carved for ourselves to quench our thirst for experimentation.
OUR OBJECTIVE
Kannada language is rich with its essence and historical background. Hence, Dhrushya(R) aims to work towards creating awareness of the mythology, literature and culture of this enriched language.
The ambition of Dhrushya(R) is to popularize folk, classical, modern and other different forms of performing arts to the youth. For this purpose, we hold theatre workshops and programmes to create awareness of the richness of these art forms. Dhrushya(R) had always adopted the above mentioned aspects in its performances since it aims at keeping alive performing arts.
The troupe is functioning towards strengthening the traditional practices which are at the edge of extinct by celebrating various traditional fairs and festivals. Dhrushya(R) has also stepped into providing free books and creating space for their study which in turn would lead to growth of literature and culture.
